A treasury of the delights of the vine
Tikveš Winery was founded in 1885 in a region with a centuries-old winemaking tradition, blessed with a perfect climate for grapes, warm and passionate people, and an authentic, vibrant culture.
We have always strived to go beyond expectations, embrace innovation, and succeed in new markets. Over the years we have acquired more prime viticultural land than any other winery in Southeastern Europe.
Authentically Macedonian, Kamnik winery expresses the greatness of ancient Macedonian traditions, of our spirit and soil, in a wine made with contemporary techniques.
Our wine combines the past and future, tradition with a sophisticated state-of-the-art approach, nature and science; this process is our inspiration for developing the most interesting flavors for our wines.
Our team’s vision is to keep our historical values and traditions alive by adapting them to the demands of the modern wine market, while simultaneously looking out for opportunities that technological advancements open for us.
There is not a single household in the Ohrid region that does not make wine. Winemaking almost seems to be in the DNA of the local people. Like everyone else here, we also made quality wines at home and shared them with friends and family. After years of production and taste testing and getting lots of compliments and praises, we decided to share our homemade wines with the world. We founded our small winery in 2019 and since then we’ve been making around 10,000 bottles of wine per year.
Bovin Winery was the first privately established winery in Macedonia. The company was founded in 1998, when we produced 120,000 bottles of high quality red and white wine. We chose these wines to represent the Bovin label at the 1999 and 2000 Agro-Expo Fair in Skopje where our Venera wine was named champion in the red wine category, while our other wines were awarded gold medals.
Bovin continued to reign as the red wine champion for seven years at the Agro-Expo Fair in Skopje, with our Dissan wine in 2001, 2002 and 2003, and with our Daron wine in 2004 and 2005.
